Modern Slavery Statement 2019
RPC GROUP LIMITED (PREVIOUSLY RPC GROUP PLC) (“RPC”) MODERN SLAVERY STATEMENT 2019
This statement is made pursuant to Section 54, Part 6 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and sets out the steps taken by RPC during the financial year ended 31 March 2019 to ensure that slavery and human trafficking is not taking place in our supply chains or in any part of our business. This statement applies to RPC and all of its subsidiaries (together the “RPC Group”).
The RPC Group is a group of leading plastic product design and engineering companies. During the year to 31 March 2019 the RPC Group had more than 188 facilities in more than 33 countries.
Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. The RPC Group has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and we are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all of our business dealings and relationships.
The same high standards are expected from all of our contractors, suppliers and other business partners, and as part of our contracting processes we include specific prohibitions against the use of forced, compulsory or trafficked labour, or anyone held in slavery or servitude, whether adults or children. Our suppliers are expected to hold their own suppliers to these same high standards.
RPC has assessed the risk of human trafficking or slavery in our supply chains and believes that the risk is low given the nature of the businesses with which the RPC Group is involved.
Relationships with our suppliers are based on our Code of Business Ethics which expressly prohibits forced, illegal or inhumane labour practices by suppliers to any part of our business. Should it come to light that any of our suppliers is using forced, prison or indentured labour or that their workers are subject to any form of compulsion, coercion or human trafficking, we would expect that behaviour to be stopped immediately.
This statement has been approved by the board of directors of RPC and signed by one of its directors.
Following RPC’s financial year ended 31 March 2019, RPC was acquired by Berry Global Group, Inc. (“Berry”) on 1 July 2019.
