Recently Berry | bpi group took part at the Pride of the Cotswolds Awards, where they supported School of the Year category.
The awards were to recognise the outstanding achievement of men, women, children and organisations across the Cotswolds. Daryl Winder, Site Manager and Patrick Carroll, SHEQ Coordinator both, from Berry bpi’s Stroud site, where involved in the ceremony. Berry| bpi group, continues to work with local schools as part of the Recycle with Riley campaign. Since October 2018, they have spoken with 750 children, and encouraged them to bring their plastic film into school so that Berry| bpi group can collect it and recycle it. So far, over 1,000 kilograms of plastic has been gathered– that’s the equivalent to over 180,000 carrier bags.
Pat Carroll said “The Recycling with Riley project has been a great success which has allowed us to engage with the younger generation on the importance of plastic recycling and recycling in general. Moreover, its helped the next generation understand the importance of plastic and its place in our world. We’ve set out to turn the next generation into ambassadors of recycling, I think we’ve gone a long way to achieving that!”
